IN THIS EPISODE…
Welcome to another adventure within the multiverse! For this adventure, we’re taking a trip to a place much like our own world. However, it’s the people we’re meeting that will leave a lasting impression on you. They’re creepy, kooky, mysterious, spooky and well – altogether ooky. They are the Addams Family and their back in animation for a new cinematic adventure. We’re sitting down with a professor of screenwriting (at the University of Tampa), blogger and movie critic, R.L. Terry, to peel back the layers of the latest Addams adventure. Along this adventure, you’ll get to know R.L. a bit better and our thoughts on the film. Even more, important than that: the importance of staying true to yourself.
This episode is proudly apart of the All the Horror. All the Horror is “a collaboration of podcasters, authors, and entertainment personalities discussing and embracing all things horror!” (#AllTheHorror Twitter). We encourage you guys to check out the other creators in this year’s festivities.
IT’S NOT SELFISH…
While The Addams Family didn’t necessarily make our list for the best films of 2019, it carries with it a strong message. We’re living in a growing climate of individualism. That’s really the core message of The Addams Family. As told through a dual narrative between Pugsley and Wednesday, each character embraces on journeys that help them realize the art of being true to oneself. Whether it’s coming to the conclusion that you might never match up with parental legacy or vision – it’s important to be you. It’s a vital message for your mental health. Sometimes it’s worth putting yourself first for the sake of your mental health.
