IN THIS EPISODE…
Welcome to another adventure within the multiverse. For this adventure, we are coming full circle. You could call it the circle of life, I suppose. Eh? Back in November 2017, all the way back in episode 87, Geek Devotions made their debut on our show. In that particular episode we discussed the full casting for The Lion King remake set for this summer. Now we are joined by Dallas & Celeste to discuss in length – our thoughts on The Lion King remake. Journey as we talk about the beautiful aesthetic of Pride Rock, the voice acting, bullying, identity and more.
REMEMBER THE CHILDREN
Throughout the duration of the first act of this film, we are introduced to a young Simba. The filmmakers are incredibly honest with showcasing how impressionable children can be. Last year, The Nun, showed us how suicide can affect children as well. Honestly, that’s the whole heartbeat of our show and existence. To demonstrate the importance of having conversations on mental health – especially with younger generations. If they start to see that there is no stigma in older generations, they will repeat that process as well.
RECREATING THE ICONIC
Disney has been on an absolute trend with recreating their most iconic films. This year has already brought us Dumbo & Aladdin. The Lion King is filled with iconic dialogue, scenes and of course music. This Jon Faveru directed film brings back a lot of those elements for a brand-new generation. Crafting a beautiful and visual experience that will last with you. You’ll be singing and laughing and crying from start to finish as you relive your child hood. To read our review, click here.
