IN THIS EPISODE…
Welcome to another adventure in the multiverse! Capt. Nostalgia maybe out of the Wrestlemania coverage but he is continuing the Hellboy coverage. For this adventure, Capt. Nostalgia, is joined by Thomas of Superhero Moviecast to discuss Hellboy: Sword of Storms and Hellboy: Blood and Iron. Both of which are the animated movies that came between the two live action Ron Perlman films. These films are often overlooked but if you've seen them, share your thoughts on these movies down below.
Hellboy Animated: Sword of Storms, is a beautiful take on the gothic creation known as Hellboy. Presenting brilliant direction and plot, fantastic voice casting and beautifully handled folklore – Storms is a treasure indeed to the mythos of the character. Though, it’s not without its’ wreckage. Somewhat busy subplots for its’ short runtime makes it feel crowded at some points. That crowded presentation is only weakened by the misplaced color palette of the animation. Even with its’ flaws, Sword of Storms still presents a fun time.
Check out our review here. We’re also jumping into the second film, Blood & Iron. As well. So make sure you let us know what you think of these often, overlooked films.
