WHAT IS GEEKS UNDER GRACE?
Geeks Under Grace is a multi-platform media ministry reaching people for Jesus Christ through the medium of nerd culture. To quote, our guest L.J. Lowery, "It's basically like IGN" - just with a christian twist. In this episode, we're also joined by Brandon "Riff Daddy" Miller from The P.S. Midnight Cast.
HOPE SPEAKS LOUDER
Before we jump into our thoughts on Christopher Robin, we're jumping into a former staple of our show. While our show has continued in our mission to deliver hope to those struggling with suicide, addiction, self-harm and depression; over the years our segment "Hope Speaks Louder" has kind of fallen at the waste. It's incredibly difficult portion of our show to book. However, we are behind blessed to have L.J. Lowery share his story of being affected by addiction and suicide.
THE NOSTALGIA FACTOR
While Winnie the Pooh might not have been something in everyone's childhood for a good part; it's probably something that existed in some way, shape or form. Christopher Robin is heavy with nostalgia. Join us as we discuss the film's nostalgic elements and our memories of the hundred acre forest.
HEAVY NATURE
While this film is heavy with nostalgia, its' not the only thing its' heavy with. Christopher Robin explores themes of war, divorce, neglect, death and more. We're no stranger to the heavier themes. Join us in this discussion for the family film focusing on real issues and their grounded approach to the heavier side of life.
ROADS TO HOPE
Family is such a simple theme but its' heavy within this movie. Sometimes we forget about how crucial it is for family and to be focused on it. More importantly, if you or someone you know is struggling with suicide, depression, self-harm or addiction, please feel free to reach out, use any of our resources, call the suicide life line: 1-800-273-8255 or text 741-741.
