Jim Carrey has entered into negotiations to star as Dr. Ivo "Eggman" Robotnik in Sonic the Hedgehog movie. If the deal does go through, Carrey will be joining James Marden and Tika Sumpter. The film is set to be a hyrbid between animation and live action. For me, personally I'm excited for this. It's been a long time since we've seen Jim Carrey do a role like this. Sounds like it could be done in the vein of previous villainous Carrey roles like Riddler in Batman Forever or The Grinch in Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Being a Sonic fan, Carrey would be a good choice to balance the over the top nature of the villain, while keeping him grounded. What do you think of this? Sound off in the comments below!
Boom Studios!, the comic publisher behind fantastic titles like Mighty Morphin Power Rangers & Rocko's Modern Life, has acquired the rights to Firefly. So, browncoats rejoice because we have new content coming. If you've ever read any titles from Boom prior to now, you know they start with a bang. This one is no different. The first arc of the new series will be tackling the unification war between the Alliance and the Independents. The series will be written by Greg Pak and feature art from Dan McDaid. The new series starts this November. From someone who just recently has been getting into the series for the first time, I'm absolutely excited about this one. From my understanding, this is the first time this war will be tackled in the mythology. Pak has really hit it out of the park with a couple of the other titles I've seen from him. Are you a browncoat? Are you anxious to see where the series goes or not? Sound off in the comments below.
It's honestly amazing to me sometimes the depths that fandoms go to. Star Wars fans have always been vocal; take The Last Jedi for example. This one comes out of the Episode One: The Phantom Menace. The prequels are probably the most hated movies among fans, so this is really no surprise. Almost twenty years after the first film in the trilogy came out, Ahmed Best, the actor behind Jar-Jar Binks reveals that the film nearly drove him to suicide. Being that this is a suicide prevention pop culture site & podcast, I truly have to say this is a tragedy. Even if you didn't like the film, it's never worth bullying someone to the point of depression and even worse, suicide. Sound off your thoughts below.
Miles Teller has signed on to play the son of Goose in the upcoming sequel to Top Gun. I'll be honest with you guys, I've never actually seen Top Gun. It's on my ever growing list. However, adding Teller this makes me excited for this film. I've yet to see a performance from Teller that I didn't like. Even in Fantastic Four, while I hated that movie, he still delivered a solid performance. Would you guys like for us to cover the original Top Gun? What do you think of Teller joining Top Gun: Maverick?
We heard a while back that they were planning a Child's Play television series that would see Brad Dourif return to the iconic childish killer. However, in a plot twist of events, MGM announced a reboot for the big screen as well. IT producers, David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith are set to produce this version. There's next to no details none about it yet. However is more Chucky better? Or should they just pick one format or another?
New word on the Spawn movie from Todd MacFarlane is reporting that Tag star Jeremy Renner could star along Jamie Foxx in the upcoming Image Comics adaption. Should Renner sign on officially, it is said that he would play the film's lead in Twitch Willaims. Spawn isn't a comic title I have a whole lot of background on and would love some education. So for the fans of the series, is Renner a good pick? Sound off below.
We are only a few months away from the DC Universe app and while last week we got our first few details. Very little is known about the app or its launch date. However, we are hearing that Titans is supposed a launch title for the app. We know a good deal of detail about the heroes of the show but not the villains. That may have changed now, Castle actor Seamus Dever is set to play Trigon. Trigon is an inter-dimensional demon who doubles as the father of Raven, a Titans member. Is Trigon the right villain for the heroes first outing into live action?
Hobbs & Shaw Villain is Canceling the Apocalypse
Idris Elba, star of Pacific Rim & the Thor trilogy, is set to star as the villain in the upcoming Fast & Furious spin-off film, Hobbs & Shaw. There are some that truly love this franchise. Some that truly need this franchise needs to end. Where do you stand? Is adding a talent like Elba really a good move?
