Mank is a passion project of Fincher's for nearly twenty years and tells the rise and fall of ghost writer turned Citizen Kane co-author,, Herman J. Mankiewicz. Gary Oldman brings the screenwriter to life through his much of his genius, alcoholic tendenacies and gambling addictions. In this episode, Gary Scott (of the Say Eff It Podcast, https://bit.ly/348guest) joins to share our thoughts on the film. While harrowing its technical achievements from cinematography to its score. Thanks to the film's subject in Mank, the movie opens up a great discussion on alcoholism, addiction, self-worth and the relationship between film and politics we rarely think about.
