IN THIS EPISODE…

Back in August 2018, we had the pleasure of sharing the story of how L.J. Lowery was affected by the suicides of his father and stepmother. Not only that but L.J. also shared the story of his struggle with addiction. Domestically, here in the states, we experience 47, 173 suicides a year. That’s roughly 129 people per day that give into suicide. Even more when we scale back internationally there is one death every 40 seconds. That’s 129 stories and lives lost to this battle. For this episode, we are sitting down with L.J. to not only celebrate but discuss the lives of his parents.

A MAN’s MAN

L.J.’s father, Lon , was raised as independent. He enjoyed off roading, hunting and using his hands for various projects. During his mid-20s, he was diganosed with multiple sclerosis and depression entered in. His first wife and L.J.’s biological mother eventually divorced. Leaving Lon on a new path that eventually led him to L.J.’s stepmother, Carolynn Brakebill.

THEN THERE’S CAROLYNN

Carolynn’s story is almost identical to Lon’s in alot of ways. Speculation that she was abused at a young age, led to a battle with depression. The eventual meeting of Lon started to delay the depression and gave one another companionship. Sometimes depression doesn’t know any bounds. A pact between the couple was unfortunately born.
